Swine Flu
Swine influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease. While it began as a disease affecting pigs, this virus is now a human infection that is spread person-to-person.
Cases of human infection with swine flu in the United States were first reported in late March and early April 2009. More cases were being reported internationally in late April.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has determined that this swine flu A (H1N1) is contagious and is spreading human-to-human.
