Breathing Association Saddened by Loss of Longtime Supporter

Employees and Board members of The Breathing Association in Columbus are paying tribute to Dan Schoedinger.  The longtime supporter, Board Member, and Board Member Emeritus of The Breathing Association died after a bicycling accident in Montana on July 27th.

Breathing Association Chair Diane Habash says she and her fellow board members are heart-broken.  “This is devastating news to us.  Dan’s spirit was full of love and he was a great supporter of doing everything he could do to improve the quality of life for all of us in Central Ohio.  I remember, vividly, the day he talked to the Board about our legacy in life and how he urged us to create one.”

Recent Board President Rob Brubaker noted that Schoedinger’s passing leaves a substantial impact on so many.  “It is hard to do justice to the depth of Dan’s extraordinary service.  The Breathing Association owes Dan a huge debt of gratitude.  He will surely be in our hearts forever.

Breathing Association President and CEO Joanne Spoth praised Schoedinger’s inspiration which leaves such a presence with the people served by the organization.  “I can see his zest for life in many of our programs that reach out to those who need help to breathe easier in Central Ohio.  His strength of character will continue to lead.  We are grateful for his life and all that Dan was to so many.”

Schoedinger joined The Breathing Association Board of Trustees in 1995 and served as Trustees Chair for 2004-2005.  He continued as Trustee Emeritus until his death.

Donations to The Breathing Association in Schoedinger’s honor will be used to continue the work he supported with his service to the organization.  Contributions in his memory may be made by calling The Breathing Association at 614-457-4570, by writing; The Breathing Association, 1520 Old Henderson Road, Columbus, OH 43220 or through The Breathing Association website:
